Elastik 3 is the most powerful sample player we have ever made. It provides the modern music producer with a complete toolbox for working with audio loops. Loops can be an important part of the creative process for many musicians, and with Elastik you get a set of tools that are fast, efficient and flexible.
With an intuitive Loopeye editing environment, high-quality pitch, tone, scale and rhythm manipulation algorithms, and a huge collection of Elastik-ready sample libraries covering virtually every conceivable musical genre, Elastik is a powerful loop-based music creation workstation. It is available both as a standalone application and as a plug-in for almost any DAW on Windows and macOS platforms.
The new ReTune tab in the Loopeye editor gives you full control over the scale and tonality of any tonal loop, and can even handle polyphonic material.
The ReTune algorithm developed by zplane.development analyzes polyphonic and monophonic sounding material in real time and converts it to the desired pitch and scale while maintaining high audio quality. Enter custom scales via the matrix or select from preset scales to adjust any loop to your project. ReTune can also be used as a creative tool for sound design with parameters such as sensitivity, transients, smoothing and pitch correction, as well as dry/wet controls.
If you want complete control over the timing and pitch stretching process, the Time tab in the Loopeye editor allows you to choose between six different algorithms, from the simple and super effective PitchSpeed to the high quality ProV3, which gives you the maximum range to change pitch and tempo while minimizing audio artifacts. This tab also includes new stretch effects for even more creative options. The engine is also very efficient and CPU friendly.
In addition to pitch and rhythm manipulation, Elastik’s central Loopeye forms a detailed loop editing tool. A large number of parameters can be adjusted, including slice based pitch shifting, volume and panning, inversions, voicing, filters and resampling. Elastik even includes a random sound replacement feature called INSPIRE: with a single click of the Inspire button, Elastik will select an alternative loop, providing additional inspiration when you need it. All of this can be done instantly without leaving the Elastik environment. You can use the new Inspire browser to define which sound libraries will be used in the Inspire tool.
Elastik is a very creative tool that also provides a very efficient workflow. The streamlined browser means that no matter how large your Elastik loop library is, you will be able to find the right loop in an efficient way. Elastik also includes advanced features such as tagging and filtering, making it easy to narrow down any search. The browser allows you to easily audition loops in BPM, key and scale that are in sync with your project. If you want to add a new loop library from the Ueberschall collection, the authorization process is fast and secure.
Once you’ve identified loops to use in your project, they can be mapped to Elastik’s virtual keyboard or pad, ready to be triggered from within Elastik, via your MIDI keyboard or host sequencer. There are a range of different triggering methods, so you can make sure your loops stay in sync with your project. Elastik’s sophisticated time, pitch, tone and scale conversion algorithms – using zplane’s most advanced audio processing technology – maximize audio quality, and you have independent control over all parameters when it comes to matching loops to the tempo and pitch of any project, with maximum flexibility.
